PERENNIALS
Perennials can be used around a patio, along a garden path, in a traditional english border or integrated into an existing landscape planting as accents. If you need assistance, we have trained staff to design a perennial garden to fit your needs and provide season long bloom.

Bulbs
In fall, Green View offers a superb selection of bulbs. Daffodil, Crocus, Tulip, Hyacinth and specialty bulbs will add a refreshing splash of color to your landscape after the long dreary winter. Also, keep in mind, many of the smaller, minor bulbs like Snowdrops and Squill will self sow and spread to form a wonderful display. You can enjoy spring, early, by forcing bulbs indoors during winter. Some of the best bulbs for indoors include: Amaryllis, Hyacinth, Narcissus and Paper-Whites. In spring, we carry summer flowering bulbs like Caladium, Cannas and Dahlia, that will provide spectacular color during the summer months. These summer flowering bulbs must be treated like annuals or dug up in the fall to protect them from frost.

Interplanting perennials and bulbs
Increased seasonal interest can be incorporated by interplanting perennials and bulbs within your beds. Interplanting is best described as incorporating multiple plants that will grow and bloom at differing times, into the same space. The most common application, being an underplanting of bulbs in a groundcover bed. It's best to interplant into areas where disturbances like lifting/dividing plants seldom occur, near low maintenance perennials or in ground cover beds. Also, with a little planning, one can obscure the passing foliage of bulbs; position the bulbs informally in masses among late emerging perennials (balloon flower, butterfly weed etc.); or plant annuals between the bulbs. Also, one can combine like-foliage textures such as daffodil and daylily or crocus and lilyturf to make passing bulb foliage indiscernible.
